It was a joint organization of IAPMEI and the Office of National Coordinator of the Lisbon Strategy and the Technological Plan in order to discuss the concept of 'open innovation' and analyze the state of the art of "Living Labs" Portuguese incorporating its European network (ENoLL).
Against a background of change in the innovation process, the Living Labs is a new way to promote greater institutional connection and integration of scientific research, technological development and innovation in companies, looking at ways to validate ideas and testing prototypes in real environment from end users.
Portugal is the second country of the European network with more 'living labs', having already six. Only Finland overcomes this issue by presenting seven networks.
The Portuguese Living Labs are currently integrated into ENoLL six. Madeira Living Lab, Madeira's Technopole, entered in the first wave.
S. John Wood Industrial Living Lab, led by Sanjotec, Creative Media Lab and Rener, Intel, the Living Lab Minho, Minho University, and Eco Living Lab, led by Hall of Chamusca, came in second.
During the meeting discussed the activity of the six Portuguese networks (environment, energy, technology and media).
We took advantage of the event to announce the contest to the 3rd spot in the European Network of Living Labs.
The deadline for submission of proposals will run until September 30 this year. The dissemination of approved applications will happen November 24 during the i2010 Conference "Research in ICT ', an initiative of the European Commission and the Finnish Presidency.
