How it works?

Access to the program is achieved by obtaining FINCRESCE PME Leader status, through the network of banks that have established partnership agreements under the program, directly from the IAPMEI, and Tourism of Portugal, for business tourism.
In a subset of SME Leader distinction is awarded to SME Excellence, which have significant implications in terms of its notoriety and the affirmation within the various market players.

Towards Excellence Plan

Leader SMEs wishing to improve their market position and therefore their risk profile may develop an 'Action Plan Towards Excellence' (PRE) that will give them, besides the return for strengthening competitive, a greater possibility of ascension to the status SME Excellence.

To improve the risk profile, the PRE should respond both to opportunities for improvement identified in the benchmarking exercise and the recommendations of the risk offered by the Bank.

Steps to be SMEs Leader

- Certification in SME online site IAPMEI www.iapmei.pt
- To express an interest in obtaining the status of SME Leader with a Credit Institution (CI) filed (BES, BPI, CGD, BST, MellenniumBCP) performing the analysis of the risk profile of the company, then, to propose to IAPMEI;
- IAPMEI validates the data sent by the IC filed and if the criteria are confirmed, announces the award of the SME status of SME Leader, giving this information to the IC. Otherwise, IAPMEI notify the IC not to grant such status, identifying the reasons behind that decision.
